An early 20th Century detailed steam sail passenger ship 'S.S PARIS' housed in a glass fronted and framed case.
Three funnels and masts, lifeboats, rigging, deck fittings, people, simulated sea and painted sky.
A really fantastic model like the others DARWIN and ALEXANDRIA that we have up for sale.
The quality and craftmanship of this model has to be seen to be believed, the images really don't do it justice.
SS Paris was a French ocean liner built for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France. Although Paris was laid down in 1913, her launching was delayed until 1916, and she was not completed until 1921, due to World War I. When Paris was finally completed, she was the largest liner under the French flag, at 34,569 tons
