A mid 19th Century English walnut cased Games compendium. With stained turned whalebone chess pieces and draughts counters. Fitted to the inside lid is a leather folding chess board, a horse racing circuit board and a gilt backgammon board. The front opens to reveal the full chess set, fitted into the interior is a lift-out tray which reveals further compartments with dice holders, markers and lead 'jockeys on horses', dominoes and a cribbage board. Measures 33cm x 21cm x 18.5cm high.
