A pair of similar heavy duty sturdy Port and Starboard copper and brass oil lamps. Both by well known ships lights manufacturers of their time.
The Starboard lantern is by the makers 'Alderson & Gyde' of Birmingham and is stamped with the date 1944. Complete with carry handle, fresnel lens, original blue lens (looks green with the flame of natural light), burner and reservoirs.
The Port lantern is by the makers 'Telford, Grier and Mackay' of 16 Carrick street, Glasgow. It has a date stamped on it of 1916 and matching serial numbers. Complete with carry handle and fresnel lens, but no burner.
Both stand 40cm high x 19cm across the sides to the back. They weigh 5.25kg and 6.5kg.
