A Spanish 8 reale or 'piece of eight' recovered from the 'Hollandia' wreck off the Isles of Scilly in 1743 with the loss of all hands discovered in 1971.
A good grade example with all the legends clear, dated 1740 and the reign of King Phillip V.
Fitted in a mount which reads around it 'TREASURE FROM "HOLLANDIA" SUNK 1743 - sterling silver with silver coloured chain.
