A brass and wooden ships wheel with the legends 'NORTHUMBRIAN MAID. BELFAST. 1843' in the brass central boss, on a display stand. The measurements are 109cm high x 109cm spoke to spoke x 34cm deep. A real piece of maritime history.

Northumbrian Maid was a wooden sailing ship rigged as a Schooner, built in Newcastle in 1843 by George Hall, Thomas Hills and Robert Fulton. She was wrecked at the entrance to Campbeltown harbour. Her hull and materials were sold at auction in 1869.
