A 19th century ships waterline diorama - three masted twin funnel steam ship named ALEXANDRIA to the bow with painted sky and simulated sea.

The images really don't do this ship justice! I did my best but the reflection is hard to avoid hence why I have added so many images so you can really try to see the beautiful workmanship and overall appearance.

We have another of these ships in our SOLD ITEMS which you can look at, the images were taken on a dry sunny day!

My father has another of these ships in his living room and it takes pride of place, this ship was definitely made by the same firm.

On the top of the case there is a very old name and address which I am trying really hard to decipher! I think it is German and starts 'Capt'. So it could well have belonged to the captain of the ship or was given to a Captain of another ship, I wish I knew.

One school of thought suggested this model, 'PARIS' and one other single funnel were made by a cottage business in Germany around the 1900's.

Quality deck fittings throughout with rigging and two crew at the helm.

Measures 86cm wide x 41cm high x 19cm deep.

This could be delivered by road for about £100 within mainland UK.
