Brass Sestrel ships clock 'F.Smith and Son. Southampton' 15cm diameter glass mounted on a wooden ships wheel which measures 62cm from handle to handle. A plaque to the front reads 'Built Swan Hunter 1907 - MAURETANIA 1 - Ended service 1935'. We also discover that to the reverse of this plaque reads 'Presented to Edward Ellis ESQ O.B.E Thornycroft & Co LTD July 1950 by his colleagues at Southampton docks on his retirement'
