A 19th century salt glazed stoneware portrait jug of our most famous Naval officer Lord Horatio Nelson, in military dress and inscribed 'NILE 1798' and 'TRAFALGAR 1805. England expects every man to do his best' to the front base. In good overall condition with a few hairline marks to the reverse. He stands 29cm high x 19 wide x 15 deep. There is some lovely detail to this and the handle is actually his hair. We think made by Doulton around 1850.
