A Royal Navy Mess plate with the 'Old head' Queen Victoria design Number 2. Dating this plate from 1880-1906. Earthenware made and transfer printed. Depicting a repeated scene of sailors,cannon, a ship, flags, a drum, an anchor, Queen Victoria in a cartouche surrounded by foliage with a rope twist border. Crown to the centre and the Mess number.
