A Royal Navy Mess plate No.1 made by Fletcher and Miller of Portsea.

This plate will date between 1850 and 1870 and was most likely made at the Bovey Tracey pottery company in Devon for Fletcher and Miller who supplied the RN in Portsmouth.

It is the only Mess plate not to display a crown. It does however have designs of the thistle, rose and clover representing Scotland England and Ireland.

A beautiful and detailed design in very good condition for its age.

Diameter 25cm.
