A Royal Navy Submarine binnacle with original compass and stand. Known also as a 'Faithful Freddie'.
Made by Cooke of Hull. An addition has been added to this which is a compass magnifier, I have never seen one of these added in 30 years. The stand has polarity adjusting rods. It is lacking side arms, balls and shutters for the windows on the hood. I will be doing some restoration on this, firstly making up new wood for the stand where it is open. The binnacle stands 42cm high without the handle and measures 18cm wide. The stand is 33cm high x 22cm diameter. Now with restored arms and magnetic balls.
