Royal Navy copper rum or grog measures with Italic lettering. We have 1/2 Gallon stamped with an ER crown, Quart stamped with GR crown, Pint stamped Pt, a broad arrow and VR crown, 1/2 pint stamped with GR crown, 1 1/2 Gill with a serial number and 1/2 Gill with a GR crown. Tin lined with riveted handles denoting British navy made. Italic lettering was phased out in favour of the block or square lettering around the 1950's.
