Royal Navy issue Mess plate in the Queen Victoria 'Young head' design dating this plate from 1880-1906 production. Earthenware made and transfer printed. Depicting a repeated scene of sailors, cannon, a ship, flags, a drum, an anchor, Queen Victoria in a cartouche surrounded by foliage with a rope twist border. Crown to the centre and the Mess number. With a stamp to the reverse stating they were made at the Bovey Pottery Co. Ltd in Devon, UK. No damage. Measure 24cm diameter.
