A 19th Century sailors whalebone ditty box with walrus tusk whale to the top.
Whalebone (probably steamed pan bone) sides with tropical wood (probably ebony) base and lid. A small area of the lids' sides have been broken at some point and restored, and a small area is missing from the top of one of the boxes' sides as shown in the images. Constructed with small brass pins flush to the sides.  In very good condition for its age. Measures 12cm long x 8cm wide x 6cm high.
