A whalebone seam rubber ornamented with a Turks head and facetted handle with remains of the initials M.S or S.L, (depending which way up you look!) and reeded groove decoration. 10cm long.
These objects were used by sailmakers to produce sharp folds in canvas-sails prior to sewing and to smooth stitching.
