No.334

A fantastic matched pair of large whales teeth measuring 18cm in length by 7.5cm width each highly likely from the same whale. The left pointing tooth depicts the whaling ship and whale to the background and two smaller whaling rowing boats to the foreground. The right facing tooth has the wording 'Kent Whaleing' and undecipherable markings below that, with whales being harpooned and the hunt in full swing. Really very fine workmanship and of considerable age.  The wording is now thought to be Whaleing OFF HORTA.  One Tooth depicts the Chase the other with the Sails furled shows a whale hung up for Flensing.
