This lovely old tile is by Minton and has the impressed mark to the rear of MINTON and a rope reef knot design which is 1888. It measures 18.5" x 9.5" . The picture is after one of the famous paintings of the Death of Nelson, by a Artist of the name of Jazzet. I once had an oversized chromolithograph of the same image about 4ft square. There are some very minor chips to the edge but otherwise it is in good condition. One third the way along the lower edge from the left there is the name F.G.BENNETT who I assume was the artist. The rope frame is recent.
