A wooden Stern board with the legends 'AUG T THE 2 D 1847' across a horizontal banner with a central boss 'GREENWICH REGATTA PRIZE'.
Really hard to get the feel for this in images, it looks fantastic in the flesh. I have added lots of images so you can get the feel for it.
My research has not turned up alot of info at present.
I have no doubt that this board is from this date.
The provenance has come down a family line from a gentleman who once worked pulling the rubbish barges out of London on the Thames.
