Five copper Royal Navy Rum measures correctly termed Grog measures as they held rum and water. Half Gallon, Quart, PInt, Gill and Half Gill are present here. The Half Gallon and Pint date to the late 1800's denoted by the Italic abbreviated lettering and broad arrow or crows foot, no other serial numbers or other were present on these early measures. The Pint also has the castellated seam to the base as these early measures were made in three pieces as opposed to the later ones in two pieces. The Quart is Italic early lettering, GR cypher with crown above and 6 below, separate digits of A over 15, the base is bare. The Gill is bloc lettering, GR cypher, crown above and 6 below, separate digits of H over 54, the underside has the vocabulary numbers of 53176. The Half Gill is bloc lettering, ER cypher, crown above 6 below, separate digits of 9 over 55, serial number to the side of 53177 and the underside the manufacturers mark of tradesman with chisel and the wording 'TRADE MARK'. Ranging in height from 14cm down to 5cm.
