A silver Ashantee war medal dated 1873-74. The obverse the head of Queen Victoria and inscribed 'VICTORIA. REGINA'.  The reverse a group of soldiers and Africans fighting in the bush for their fallen comrades. The inscription on the edge reads: "M.LANDRY. PY. OFFR1.CL. H.M.S. AMETHYST 73-74".  Diameter 3.5cm. Artist and engraver - Leonard Charles Wyon (1826-1891)
Medal has damage to the obverse side by the inscription REGINA.
