A Mexico mint silver eight reale dated 1796 with the head of King Carolus 1111 set in a reversable ornate brooch mount - this coin is also known in pirate folklore as a 'Piece of eight'. The mount has the inscription '1886 HMS LA LUTINE. LOST 1799' . Coin diameter 39mm.

HMS Lutine is of course famous for its Bell that used to be rung at Lloyds every time a ship was lost or overdue.  Salved from its sinking in Northern Holland Sandbanks. I believe no longer the case as it has a crack in it. ( I know these Banks well as myself and 7 others on a Dutch Barge got stuck fast to one for a tide and a bit.) This is the first one of these I have come across but no doubt there were a few recovered.  I have had two of the Carved oak Dolphin Inkwells that were made from the later salved Rudder.  Of the large amount of Gold lost its very difficult thorough many salvage operations to work out what was recovered.
